Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering information and requirements; setting priorities.

Prepares construction schedule by studying plans; updating specifications; identifying and projecting costs for each elevation.

Obtains bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials; identifying qualified subcontractors; negotiating price.

Maintains quality service by following organization standards.

Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Supports Project Management Team, General Manager, and CEO through project reporting updates, material sourcing, vendor and subcontractor reporting, estimating, and general tasks as assigned.


Analyzing information , developing budgets, vendor and subcontractor relationships, reporting skills, estimating, decision making, teamwork, documentation skills, and quality focus.


At least (15) years of residential/light commercial construction experience

Must have a valid drivers license, pass a background check, and be willing to work out of town on an occasion for short duration of time.

Big Street Construction, Inc is currently seeking full time / year round Journeyman Carpenters for residential and commercial projects in and around the Fairbanks area. Applicants looking for a long term commitment to a growing construction company. We are busy year round with full time employment. Pay depending upon experience. Pay range $25.00/hr – $35.00/hr


The Journeyman Carpenter layout jobs, repair fire and flood damaged building structures, assemble, install, and fabricate temporary and permanent building additions, and construct new residential and light commercial projects. Performs other job related duties as assigned.



At least 5 year experience as a Carpenter, preferably in custom home building, commercial construction, and fire and flood restoration.

Reliable transportation

Extensive knowledge of the carpentry trade plus repair and maintenance of buildings

General knowledge of mathematical skills such as: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division

Executive Assistant is responsible for office management and diverse projects as required by CEO and General Manger. This includes but is not limited to clerical, administrative and secretarial support; data entry and analysis; day-to-day business financial management and billing projects; tracking, organizing and filing projects; and online marketing campaigns. Reporting to the CEO and General Manager, and working in close relation with the Project Managers and Bookkeeper, this role facilitates organizational effectiveness and efficiency through establishing, maintaining and revising office operations, procedures and resources.

– Works closely with insurance companies, insurance adjusters, insurance brokers, clients, and mortgage companies involved in insurance claims projects to establish a good rapport and ensure timely payment processing.
– Bills customers; follows-up and receives payments.
– Answers office phone calls, coordinates appointments for CEO, greets and welcomes customers to the office, checks office mail and P.O. Box, makes bank deposits, maintains and procures office supplies, and maintains an orderly office.
– Manages multiple projects simultaneously and provides CEO and General Manager with status updates.
– Follows up with client after completion of projects; administers customer survey program; coordinates project completion photos and posts pictures to social media platforms and website.
– Accurately inputs data for job costing, financial reporting, reconciling statements from multiple vendors, administering payroll. Files documentation as required.
– Manages social media accounts. Works closely with Online Marketing companies including: Pay-Per-Click, Search Engine Optimization and online review campaign managers in establishing, budgeting and growing the business’s online presence. Provides CEO and General Manager with monthly analysis.

Project Manager manages diverse projects whether at a large project environment, or stand-alone projects. This may include multiple large complex jobs or small projects from pre-booking to customer acceptance. Reporting to the General Manager and CEO, this role supervises, directs, and motivates the project team during planning, estimating, design, installation, start-up, and turnover of assigned projects. Customer satisfaction throughout construction and at final project completion is ensured through interaction with key customers.


  • Participates in pre-bid reviews and sales-to-operations turnover meetings to evaluate accuracy of the sales estimate and job layout.
  • Analyzes plans, construction contract specifications and codes to determine project requirements.
  • Work closely with insurance companies, insurance adjusters, insurance brokers, insureds and all other parties involved in claims and establish a good rapport with all parties and determine appropriate plans to get the building’s building back to pre-loss condition as quickly as possible
  • Establish and maintain relationships with clients throughout the insurance industry in order to cultivate existing accounts, blossom existing accounts, and gain future accounts
  • This position will require some travel at various times and this person must be willing to work odd-hours, weekends and Holidays, as called upon
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Specific duties include customer communications, project coordination, and assistance in billing compilation, project execution including management of in-house personnel and resources as well as sub-contractors
  • Follows up with appropriate management to assure understanding and satisfaction of job scope.
  • Obtains bids and selects reliable subcontractors
  • Participates in job site final walk-thru and manages the completion of all close-out documentation such as billings, collections, and payments; and all project records.
